How to Master the TikTok Algorithm: Your Daily Creator Routine for Growth

8/8/2026

Want to blow up on TikTok as a creator and turn views into real business opportunities? Going viral isn't just about luck—it’s about consistency, intentional engagement, and understanding how the TikTok algorithm awards "points" to active creators.

If you want the platform to actively push your content to more viewers, here is the exact step-by-step daily routine you should follow.

1. Right When You Open the App: The Morning Cleanse & Connect

Before you do anything else, build your presence and protect your comment section.

  • Post Daily (Non-Negotiable): Post 1-3 video/s or photo carousel/s every single day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. TikTok heavily promotes creators who maintain consistent posting habits.

  • Clear Your Inbox & Comments: Open your notifications immediately. Reply, like, and leave hearts on your viewers' comments.

  • Always Reply: ALWAYS leave a response to people who took the time to comment on your content.

  • Filter Out the Trash: Delete inappropriate comments immediately—whether it's unwanted flirty messages, rude remarks, or trolls. Keep your space professional.

  • Post a Quick Story: Drop a simple update on your Story, such as a casual photo ("Coffee time <3") or the title of your latest post.

  • Curate Your Following List (Think Networking!): Follow back accounts that could be potential clients, industry peers, or collaborators.

  • Unfollow Unrelated Content: Unfollow accounts or anything that doesn't align with your niche. If an account doesn't help grow your business, unfollow it. Focus on building a network within your industry (for example, for me it's potential readers/buyers, fellow authors worldwide and people as well as companies within the book industry).

2. BEFORE You Post: Farm Your Algorithm "Plus Points"

Did you know TikTok awards invisible points for good engagement and "penalizes" you for bad engagement?

Before you hit publish on today’s video or photo, do the following:

  1. Watch approximately 10 videos in full: Never swipe away early—watch them from start to finish!

  2. Engage intentionally: Leave a comment and a like on those 10 posts. If you don't have a comment to leave, at least hit the like button.

  3. Use Hashtags at the End of Your Posts: When you're making a video or a picture collage on TikTok, use five hashtags that align with your brand, your nisch and the content you're making. This helps TikTok push your video to the right viewers that will engage with your post.

How the Algorithm Works: TikTok rewards you with plus points every time you complete a video, leave a like, and write a comment. You get minus points when you scroll past without watching or engaging. The more plus points you accumulate, the more TikTok pushes your new upload to fresh audiences!

3. AFTER You Post: Lock In Your Reach

Your work isn't done the moment your video goes live. Here is how to maximize momentum right after hitting submit:

  • Share to Your Story: Instantly add your new post directly to your TikTok Story. This push your views directly to your followers.

  • Reply Fast: Sit tight for the first few minutes and reply to the very first comments as soon as they roll in. Fast early engagement signals high interest to the app.

  • Moderate Instantly: Delete any spam or inappropriate comments right away.

  • Pin Your Best Work: Ensure your top 3 most important or highest-viewed videos are pinned to the top of your profile grid so new visitors see your best content first.

Key Takeaway

Growth on TikTok is a two-way street. By showing the platform that you are a consistent, engaged user who builds community and keeps their page clean, TikTok will reward you by putting your content in front of the exact audience you want to reach.

Now, go hit record!
